1st Annual South LA Health and Human Rights Conference

As the movement for health and human rights advances,
its local, national, and international fronts have an unprecedented opportunity to share lessons and leverage resources towards a common purpose: marked and measurable improvements in the health and well-being of children, adolescents and families. In south Los Angeles and beyond, the challenge for health and human rights advocates is not about whether we work together to seize this opportunity to achieve results, but about how.

On June 5th, 2009, a broad-based coalition in south Los Angeles, a community whose health has been marred by a long history of inequity and neglect, highlighted homegrown solutions, explored transnational partnerships, and demonstrated the effectiveness of community-led, place-based, and results-oriented approaches to healthier communities and human rights.

So Many Joined us! Adding their voices to the call for health and human rights, in south LA and beyond. View photos from the event.
